For the second time this season, YSU QB Beau Brungard has been named the MVFC Offensive Player of the Week. Brungard was also named the FCS National Player of the Week earlier today.

Brungard had a spectacular performance passing for a career-high 328 yards while rushing for 200 yards at Illinois State last Saturday. The 528 yards of total offense are a school record and ranks fourth in MVFC history. His 200 yards on the ground were the most in the FCS last weekend.

He accounted for five touchdowns - scoring on rushes of 48, two and one yards while throwing for scores of 53 and 36 in the game while helping engineer his second come-from-behind fourth quarter win of the season.

While no FCS comparisons of his 300-200-yard performance are readily available, he joins Jayden Daniels (LSU), Malik Cunningham (Louisville) and Marques Tuiasosopo (Washington) as Division I players to accomplish the feat in a single game in college football history.

It's his second 200-plus yard rushing performance of the season.

Other MVFC Players of the Week include South Dakota State's Jalen Lee (Defense), South Dakota's Zeke Mata (Special Teams) and Indiana State's Kimal Clark (Newcomer).

The Penguins return home to face Murray State this Saturday at 2 p.m. in the annual Homecoming Game at Stambaugh Stadium.
