Youngstown State senior Jade Cote finished an impressive summer season by Penguins bowlers by competing for Team Canada at the 2024 PANAM Bowling Championships on Aug. 19-24. The international tournament was held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev.
Cote averaged 212.71 overall at the event, which encompassed four different formats. Her highest scoring came in the trios format, when she averaged 217.67 over a six-game block and shot at least 215 in each of her final five games. She also averaged 210 in the doubles and singles formats, where she placed sixth and 16th, respectively. Cote's highest game of the week came in doubles when she fired a 266.
Cote's best placing in a format was fourth in teams, where Team Canada averaged 204.53 overall and the Farnham, Quebec, native averaged 208. Cote's all-event total of 5,105 was the 12th-highest total in the field.
