Xoe Rosalez Becomes Third Transfer to Join YSU’s Women’s Basketball Program

Xoe Rosalez has signed to join the Youngstown State women's basketball program beginning in the 2024-25 season, YSU head coach Melissa Jackson announced on Thursday.

Rosalez, a 5-foot-6 guard from Seminole, Texas, has spent the past two seasons in the Junior College ranks and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"I am very excited to welcome Xoe to our Penguin Family," Jackson said. "Xoe brings great point guard experience and added depth to that position. She can score the ball but also facilitate. In recruiting Xoe, we found someone who truly embodies our culture. I know Xoe is ready to get to work and compete!"

Rosalez played the 2023-24 season at Seward County Community College in Kansas, averaging 9.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She made 31 starts and ranked 11th in the NJCAA with 35.2 minutes per game. Rosalez scored at least 20 points three times and reached double figures in 13 games.

Before heading to Kansas, Rosalez played her freshman season at Frank Phillips College in Northern Texas. She averaged 16 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals for the Plainsmen, and she scored in double figures 26 times. Rosalez made 62 3-pointers, including six in a 27-point effort against Howard College.

At Seminole High School in Northwest Texas, Rosalez was a four-year letterwinner. She averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists as a senior.

Rosalez is the ninth newcomer who has signed to join the Penguins in 2024-25 and the third to pledge since Jackson was hired in March. She joins transfers Faith Burch and Dacia Lewandowski and incoming freshmen Sarah Baker, Hayden Barrier, Danielle Cameron, Sophia Gregory, Erica King and Ashlynn Van Tassell.
