The Youngstown State baseball program will honor its 2004 and 2014 Horizon League championship teams during its home game against Oakland at Eastwood Field on Saturday, April 27, at 3 p.m.

The 2024 campaign marks the 20th and 10th anniversary of YSU's two Horizon League championship seasons. Members of the 2004 and 2014 conference championship teams are invited to attend the game on April 27 as well as a special gathering and meal with current coaches and players following the contest. In addition, both championship squads will be honored as part of Saturday's game.

The 2004 Youngstown State baseball team swept through the Horizon League Tournament with a perfect 4-0 record at Eastwood Field. The Penguins defeated Cleveland State 10-1 in the title game to advance to earn the program's first NCAA Regional berth. YSU fell to No. 2 Texas and TCU in the NCAA Austin Regional.

The 2014 YSU baseball team also posted a 4-0 record in the Horizon League Tournament to earn the program's second NCAA Regional berth. The Penguins rallied to beat Wright State 5-4 in the title game at Kapco Park in Mequon, Wis., to advance to the NCAA Bloomington Regional. After falling to No. 4 Indiana in its opening game, YSU earned its first NCAA Tournament victory with a 5-2 triumph over Indiana State. The Guins were eliminated by Stanford in their third and final game in Bloomington.
