Wright, Harris Named to MVFC All-Newcomer Squad

Youngstown State tailback Ethan Wright and defensive back DJ Harris were named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer team which was announced on Tuesday.
Wright, a transfer from Cincinnati, rushed for 677 yards on 136 carries during his first year in the YSU Red and White. Harris, a transfer from Tiffin, became an important late-season starter and finished tied for the team-lead in tackles with 56.
YSU had eight players named all-conference which was announced yesterday.

Played in 11 contests, starting seven…rushed for 677 yards on 136 carries and had four touchdowns…caught 18 passes for 114 yards…in MVFC contests, had 97 carries for 441 yards and three scores…rushed for more than 50 yards in eight games…had a season-high 93 yards on 16 carries vs. North Dakota…added 81 yards and two touchdowns against Indiana State…had 76 yards on a season-high 17 attempts at Missouri State.

Played in 12 games, starting three contests…tied for the team lead with 56 total tackles…had 35 solo stops and 21 assists…lead the team with 47 tackles in MVFC play with 28 solos and 19 assists…had season-best performance vs. Illinois State with 13 tackles (11 solos) an interception and a fumble recovery…added nine tackles at Southern Illinois and eight vs. UNI…also had six at Missouri State…ended the season with 35 tackles in the final four games.
