
Penguin Women Set For Dual With Saint Francis in Home Finale

The Youngstown State women's swimming and diving team will defend the Beeghly Natatorium pool one last time during the 2023-24 season as they are set to host Saint Francis in a dual on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Penguin women claimed seven event victories last Saturday in a dual against Cleveland State at Beeghly Natatorium.
Hanna Held secured a win in the three-meter dive as she totaled a score of 262.28. She also finished second in the one-meter dive with a score of 251.33.
Miriam Frass and Oliwia Kaniak continued their stellar seasons as they racked up two vent wins each against the Vikings. Frass won the 200 free with a time of 1:54.57, and she also won the 500 free with a time of 5:12.28. Kaniak was victorious in the 100 breaststroke as she swam a time of 1:06.33, and she also grabbed the win in the 200 breaststroke as she swam a time of 2:21.82.
The Penguins were well-represented towards the top of the leaderboard in the 200 butterfly, as they claimed the top three spots. Allison Ramirez Romero was victorious with a time of 2:10.94, Natalia Andres finished runner-up with a time of 2:11.08, and Olivia Sweetman finished third with a time of 2:15.88.
Sweetman collected a victory of her own during the meet, finishing in first place in the 1000 free as she swam a time of 10:30.79. Fellow Penguin Hailey Clark finished third in the event, finishing in 10:43.98.
The Penguins fell to the Vikings by a score of 164-135.
Scouting Saint Francis
The Red Flash are also coming off a dual last weekend, as they hosted Niagara. SFU fell to the Purple Eagles by a score of 161-82.
Saint Francis collected three victories during the meet, as Sara Turner won the 200 butterfly, Bridget Kurtzwell claimed victory in the 200 backstroke, and Anna Bermasconi won the 100 IM.

The Penguins will return to the pool in 12 days as they take the quick trip up north to Cleveland State as they will compete in the Magnus Cup on Nov. 21-23 as Busbey Natatorium.
