Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State freshman Lily Ho has been named the Under Armour Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week for the period ending Oct. 20, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Ho, a native of Taichung City, Taiwan, is the first Penguin to earn a weekly award from the Horizon League this season.
Ho posted three top-10 finishes individually while recording three times that rank her among the top three performers in school history at the Akron Zips Classic on Friday and Saturday. Her best individual finish was fourth in the 200 IM in 2:03.51, which ranks her third on YSU's all-time list in the event. According to Swimcloud, that is the best time by a conference swimmer by more than four seconds this season. Ho also placed ninth in both backstroke distances with times that rank her second on YSU's all-time list. She possesses the top time by a conference swimmer in both of those events, in addition to holding the top time in the 200 IM.
Ho and the Penguins will continue their season on Nov. 19-21 at the YSU Invite inside the Beeghly Natatorium.
