Brungard Tabbed MVFC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Youngstown State QB Beau Brungard was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Penguins' 39-38 overtime victory over UNI this past Saturday at Stambaugh Stadium.
Brungard threw for two touchdowns and ran for a pair in the thrilling season-ending win over the Panthers. He shared the weekly honor with South Dakota's Charles Pierre Jr.
It's the third time this season that Brungard has earned MVFC Offensive Player of the Week laurels. He was the recipient after wins against Valparaiso and North Dakota. Brungard and Missouri State's Jacob Clark are the only two players to win the award three times this year.
He completed 31-of-36 passes (86 percent) for 256 yards and two scores and rushed 16 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns. He was a perfect 11-of-11 through the air in the first half and completed 13 straight passes to begin the game, the second-longest streak in school history.
In the first quarter he scored on runs of 17 and 1 yard as the Guins jumped out to a 14-0 lead. In a back-and-forth fourth quarter he threw a 22-yard touchdown pass and added a 12-yard score with 1:18 left in the game. In OT, he connected with Austin Bray for the game-winning two-point conversion. He competed his first 13 passes of the game.
He finished the season making 12 starts at QB for the Guins. He rushed for 998 yards on 159 carries and scored 16 touchdowns. All three are school records for a quarterback.
He completed 209-of-314 passes for 2,141 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Brungard averaged 178.4 yards passing per game and 83.2 yards rushing a contest.
