Youngstown, Ohio — IU Indy rallied from a two-set deficit to steal a 3-2 victory over Youngstown State's volleyball team on Saturday afternoon at Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center. The set scores were 18-25, 10-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-12.

YSU's Abbie Householder posted a match-high 23 kills on a .283 attack percentage while adding 13 digs, and Gabriela Machin had 10 kills. Isabel Schaefbauer finished with a team-high 19 digs and 38 assists.

IU Indy had 28 points combined in the first two sets, but a lineup change at the end of the second set changed the complexion of the match. Briana Brown came in late in the set, and she went on to finish the afternoon with 16 kills on 37 attempts in just over three sets of action. Elle Patterson matched her with 16 kills, and Jordyn Pax posted a match-best 23 digs.

The Penguins hit .311 and did not trail over the first two sets as they took a 2-0 lead in the match. YSU then held a 22-18 lead in the third set after Householder's 14th kill, but IU Indy scored the next five points and went on to take the set 26-24. Brown had four kills during the final push, and she had eight kills in the set.

YSU fought to trim an 18-11 deficit down to 20-18 in the fourth set before falling 25-20. The Penguins scored the first point of the fifth, but that was their final lead. The Jaguars scored the net four points behind Pax's serve, but YSU scored the next four points to tie the set at 6-6. The score was also tied four more times, the final occurrence at 11-11, before IU Indy scored four of the final five points.

Youngstown State will play a pair of matches at Milwaukee next Friday and Saturday.
