Men’s Golf Continues Fall Slate Monday at Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational

The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its fall season on Monday when it begins play in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, W. Va.
The Penguins are coming off a ninth-place finish in the season-opening Red Bandana Invitational hosted by Boston College on Sept. 3-4 at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. Redshirt senior Dean Austalosh tied for 36th with a three-round score of 233 (83-74-76) to come in as YSU's top individual finisher.
The field at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational will feature 11 other schools including Bellarmine, Belmont, Cleveland State, Dayton, Longwood, Marshall, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne and Robert Morris.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. each day. The course will play approximately 6,523 yards and par is 71.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's lineup will feature Austalosh, Justin Atkinson, Ryan Sam, Jacob Sylak and Jimmy Graham. In addition, Michael Porter will be competing as an individual.
Austalosh, Atkinson, Sam and Sylak each competed in the season-opening Red Bandana Invitational. Graham will be making his YSU debut on Monday after spending the last four years at Division II Notre Dame College. Porter, a redshirt freshman, will be making his collegiate debut for the Penguins. Atkinson made his YSU debut last week after spending the last three seasons at Division II Findlay.
The tournament is named in honor of Joe Feaganes, who coached the Marshall men's golf team from 1972-2002.
