The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving programs were both named to the College of Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Division I Scholar All-America Teams Spring 2023 list, the CSCAA announced.
For the second consecutive semester, the men's team landed in the top 10 of all Division I men's teams with an impressive 3.65 GPA which tied for sixth with Columbia. Stanford (3.77) led the way while Brown (3.73), Harvard (3.72), Massachusetts (3.70), and Duke (3.66) rounded out the top five.
The Penguin women were named to the Scholar All-American Team with a 3.57 GPA. Marshall (3.84) earned the top GPA while Richmond (3.84), Brown (3.79), Vermont (3.79), and Dartmouth (3.78) earned spots in the top five.
Overall, 284 Division I teams earned Scholar All-American Honors with 172 women's teams and 112 men's teams garnering the accolade. Teams with a 3.00 GPA or higher were considered for the award.
