Natalie Calandra-Ryan of the Youngstown State women's lacrosse team was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, the CSC announced Tuesday.
Calandra-Ryan, a sophomore attacker from Auburn, N.Y., earned president's list honors with a 4.0 semester GPA in spring 2023. She owns a 3.76 cumulative GPA as an exercise science major.
Calandra-Ryan has delivered two outstanding seasons as a Penguin. She set single-season school records in numerous statistical categories in 2022 with 68 goals, 91 points, 97 draw controls, 39 ground balls, and 37 caused turnovers. She reached the 100-goal milestone in 2023 at just 28 career games. Calandra-Ryan scored 35 goals and 11 assists for 48 points in 2023, averaging 3.18 goals and 4.36 points per game (11 games played).
Calandra-Ryan was voted All-Mid-American Conference Second Team in 2023 and Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week on March 7, 2023. She was named Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Mid-American Conference in 2022 and earned Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors three times during the season.
