Gavin Webb, James Slessor, and Crispy Barton of the men's swimming team delivered impressive performances against many talented competitors at the four-day TYR Pro Swim Series in Mission Viejo, Calif. that concluded Saturday evening.
Webb led the Guins with a ninth-place finish in the 1500m LC Freestyle. He clocked an impressive time of 15:58.68 in his top-10 finish. In addition, he placed 13th in the 800m LC Freestyle, swimming a time of 8:21.58. Webb also qualified for the the B final of the 400m LC IM and earned a 16th-place finish with a time of 4:31.53. Additionally, he picked up a 31st-place finish in the in the 400m LC Freestyle, delivering a time of 4:06.66.
Slessor qualified for the C final in the 50m LC Breaststroke and swam a 29.54 to finish 23rd in the event. He also placed 28th in the 100m LC Breaststroke, delivering a time of 1:05.49. In addition, he finished 33rd in the 200m LC Breaststroke with a time of 2:28.20.
Barton placed 31st in the 50m LC Backstroke with a time of 30.54 and added a 44th-place finish in the 50m LC Breaststroke, delivering a time of 31.91. In addition, he clocked a preliminary time of 4:36.03 in the 400m LC IM to qualify for the C final in the event.
