Former Youngstown State offensive lineman Mike McAllister has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
McAllister was a three-year starter at YSU and served as the Penguins' starting center in his final 28 games.
In 2022, he was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference for his stellar efforts. He started all 11 games at center while grading out as one of YSU's top offensive linemen throughout the year. McAllister played every snap in seven of the 11 contests. The offensive line helped pave the way for running back Jaleel McLaughlin who was named the MVFC's Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-American.
McAllister showed a knack for working with multiple starting quarterbacks throughout his career. YSU switched starters after four contests in the 2022 campaign. The Guins started a redshirt freshman in nine of 10 games in 2021. In the spring of 2021, the Penguins also started two different quarterbacks.
He started all 10 games in the fall of 2021 and all seven in the spring of 2021.
