Baltimore, Md. – The Youngstown State softball team earned a split on day two of the UMBC Tournament after knocking off Lafayette, 4-0, and falling to UMBC, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon.
In the opener, junior pitcher Devan Ryan tossed a four-hit, complete-game shutout with five strikeouts against Lafayette.
Conchetta Rinaldi went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Hailey Roach had two hits and drove in a run.
Against UMBC, Sara Fessler went 2-for-3 and Elyssa Imler had a run-scoring single.
Youngstown State faces Saint Louis, Saturday, March 4, at 10 a.m. in Nashville, Tenn., at the Lipscomb Tournament.
