Caleb Swisher Joins YSU Baseball Staff as Director of Operations

Caleb Swisher has joined the Youngstown State baseball coaching staff as Director of Baseball Operations, Head Coach Dan Bertolini announced on Friday.
"Caleb is a tremendous addition to our staff," said Bertolini. "He has several years of experience at different levels in college baseball, and his strong work ethic and love for the game will make a huge impact on our program."
Swisher, a native of Beavercreek, Ohio, comes to Youngstown with seven seasons of baseball experience, including five at the collegiate level. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Bryant and Stratton College in Solon, Ohio, in 2023.
"I could not be more excited to join the Youngstown State baseball staff," said Swisher. "Being on staff with a Division I baseball team has been a dream and goal of mine since I started my career in baseball, and I am incredibly blessed and thankful to be part of a great program here at YSU. I cannot wait to see what this team can and will accomplish in the coming years."
Swisher served as team manager for the baseball program at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, from 2017-20. He helped Sinclair claim three consecutive Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) championships from 2017-19. In 2018, the Tartan Pride claimed the NJCAA Region XII championship, advanced to the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series in Enid, Okla., and finished the season ranked fifth in the country.
After Sinclair Community College discontinued its athletics programs following the COVID-19 pandemic, Swisher joined his alma mater Beavercreek High School, where he served as an assistant coach for the varsity baseball team in 2021 and 2022. He coached the outfielders at Beavercreek and helped the Beavers finish as the District Runner-Up in 2021. Swisher coached the outfielders at Bryant and Stratton College in his most recent role in 2023.
Swisher graduated from Sinclair Community College in 2019 with an associate's degree in architectural technology. He also graduated from Greene County Career Center with a Career Passport in Electrical Wiring in 2014.
