Tyshon King Named to MVFC All-Newcomer Team

Youngstown State tailback Tyshon King, who transferred from Northern Michigan prior to the 2023 campaign, was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's All-Newcomer squad, the league announced on Tuesday.
King was named a second-team All-MVFC running back on Monday.
In the regular-season, King rushed for 894 yards on 160 carries and scored nine touchdowns in his YSU debut season. In MVFC games, he had 600 yards on 125 carries, including a season-best 152 yards against Murray State. King rushed for 148 yards vs. Illinois State, 117 against Robert Morris and Southern Illinois while adding a 111-yard performance against Valparaiso in his YSU debut. He finished second in the voting for the league's Newcomer of the Year.
In his FCS playoff debut last Saturday against Duquense he had 101 yards on 19 carries.
The Penguins are set to take on Villanova in the FCS Playoffs second round this Saturday.
