Senior Regan LaVigna scored her first goal of the year and junior goalkeeper recorded her second straight shutout as the Youngstown State women's soccer team knocked off Bucknell, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Farmers National Bank Field.

The Penguins improve to 1-4-1 overall while Bucknell falls to 3-2-0.

Youngstown State and Bucknell battled through nearly 60 scoreless minutes before LaVigna found the left-bottom corner of the goal. From just outside the top-left of the penalty box senior Haley Curtis centered a pass in front of the goal where a sliding LaVigna punched a right-footed shot past the Bison's goalkeeper at the 59:59 mark.

Kirkpatrick was impressive in the net tallying eight saves for her fourth career shutout.

Bucknell outshot the Penguins, 13-3, including 8-0 in the first half, while each team took two corner kicks.
