Diving Squad Heads to Three-Day West Virginia Invite

The Youngstown State men's and women's diving programs will head to the three-day West Virginia Invite in Morgantown, W. Va. at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park beginning on Thursday.
YSU will complete in the men's and women's one-meter, three-meter, and platform dives. The prelims of the men's one-meter will kick off the meet on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and the women's three-meter prelims will follow at 2:30 p.m. Finals for the two events will take place at 6:15 p.m.
On Friday, the women's one-meter prelims will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by prelims of the men's three-meter at 2:20 p.m. Finals will take place for the events at 6:15 p.m.
Platform diving will take place on Saturday for both the men and women with finals at 12:30 p.m.
The Penguins will take six women and four men to dive at the highly competitive meet including Dasha Toth, Emma Schum, Ellen Linscheid, Kayla Wrasman, Natalie Weissman, Tess Weiskopf, Brooks Adams, Cody Thill, Simon Iwanonkiw, and Zachary Lao.
Last Time Out
The divers were last in action on Saturday, Nov. 5 as the swimming and diving programs played host to conference foe Cleveland State at the Beeghly Natatorium.
The YSU diving programs had a very successful outing at the dual-meet. Following their impressive performance, YSU swept the Horizon League Divers of the Week awards.
For the women, Kayla Wrasman swept both the women's one- and three-meter dives. She scored a 237.75 to finish first in the one-meter dive and a 233.85 to win the three-meter. She was named the #HLSD Women's Diver of the Week.
Tess Weiskopf was second in the one-meter dive, scoring a 225.60. Emma Schum finished third in the three-meter dive, scoring a 210.60.
For the men, Simon Iwanonkiw earned a victory in the three-meter with a score of 261.83. He also placed third in the one-meter, scoring a 221.85. He was named the #HLSD Men's Diver of the Week following his noteworthy performance.
Brooks Adams won the one-meter dive, scoring a 237.90. Cody Thill was second in both diving events scoring a 253.13 in the three-meter and a 225.45 in the one-meter.

The swimming and diving programs will return to action together as they head to the three-day Miami (OH) Invitational at the Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio beginning on Thursday, December 1.
