
A Few Penguins Head to Bill Lennox Slippery Rock Invitational

A few members of the Youngstown State men's cross country program will compete at the annual Bill Lennox Slippery Rock Invitational at the Lawrence Country Fairgrounds in New Castle, Pa. on Saturday.
The men's 8k is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
This race is the last stop before the Penguins head to the much-anticipated Horizon League Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Last Time Out
The Penguins were last in action as they turned in impressive performances at the highly competitive Penn State National Open on Friday, October 14.
The Penguins finished four runners in the top 50 in the men's 5.2 mile. Chase Easterling paced the Penguins, clocking a 25:34.0 in his 14th-place finish out of a loaded field of 138 competitors. Hunter Christopher also finished top 20, placing 19th with a time of 25:51.8.
Tyler Clark was the next finisher for YSU, clocking a 26:05.1 to place 30th. Ryan Meadows also turned out a top-50 performance, finishing 46th with a time of 26:25.9.
Rounding out the scoring fleet for the men was Ty Coon in 56th with a time of 26:39.9.
Overall, the men's team finished seventh out of 14 competing universities with 157 points, finishing ahead of the home team, Penn State, for the first time in YSU history.
Morgan Cole led the Penguins in the women's 6k, clocking a 21:21.8 to finish 26th out of 161 runners. Carly Hall was the next Guin to cross the finish line in 69th with a time of 22:20.2, the 10th-fastest women's 6k time in program history.
Mackenzie Scott and Aiamyia Dudley ran times of 23:16.4 and 23:18.5, respectively, to place 110th and 111th.
The women finished 14th overall with 397 points.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Penguins will make their mark on the Horizon League Cross Country Championships in Rochester, Mich. on the campus of Oakland University.
The women's 6k will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the men's 8k at noon.
