
Penguins Have Five Top 10 Finishes On Day Three of HL Championships

The Youngstown State women's swimming and diving team had five top-10 finishes on the third day of the Horizon League Championships at the Oakland Aquatic Center.
Aida Jurinovics had the best finish at sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:30.56. Tiphanie Saint-Gilles earned an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.10.
Jamie Leming recorded a time of 57.32 seconds to place 10th in the 100 backstroke. Hannah Olger picked up a 16th-place finish in the event with a time of 59.52 seconds.
Casey Prentice won the B Final in the 100-yard butterfly with an impressive swim of 56.06 seconds to place ninth in the event. Prentice lowered her school mark of 56.18 which she set last February at the HL Championships. She had the seventh fastest time in the finals session and won her heat by almost a half a second.
In the one-meter dive, Tess Weiskopf had a score of 231.50 to finish in seventh place. Kayla Wrasman was 15th in the event with a 196.75.
Taylor Bishop posted a time of 1:54.90 in the 200 freestyle to place 14th.
In the 400 IM, Josie Preski swam a time of 4:39.05 while Averi McCarthy clocked a 4:49.37 and Rhianna Acosta posted a time of 4:57.04.
In the 200 free, Taci Miller posted a time of 1:55.61 while Carsyn Siefert had a time of 1:59.40. Mallory Pitstick swam a time of 1:06.73 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
To cap off the night, the Penguins posted a time of 3:52.39 in the 400-yard medley relay.
The final day of the Horizon League Championships is set for Saturday. Events on tap are the 1,650-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke, the 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
