Penguins Fall 3-0 in League Opener at NKU

The Youngstown State volleyball team couldn't slow down a hot-hitting Northern Kentucky squad in a 3-0 loss to the Norse on Friday night at Regents Hall. The set scores in the Horizon League opener for both teams were 25-13, 25-10, 25-13.
NKU hit .412 for the match at post an attack percentage of at least .500 in each of the last two sets. The Norse had six attack errors all night, and five of those came on blocks by YSU's Erin Kalahar. Kalahar added four kills, one behind team leader Brooklen Pe'a. Aleah Hughes had a team-best 10 digs.
Abby Kanakry had 10 kills without an error in 15 attempts to lead Northern Kentucky offensively.
Youngstown State will continue its road trip at Wright State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
