Baltimore, Md. -- Senior Sarah Ingalls had a game-tying single in game one and a go-ahead home run in game two, and junior Kayla Haslett picked up two wins as the Youngstown State softball team defeated UMass-Lowell, 5-4, in eight innings and Mount St. Mary's, 4-2, on Friday afternoon.

With the win, the Penguins improve to 10-7 overall and have won five of their last six games.

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Ingalls ripped a game-tying single to left field and senior Courtney Ewing's sacrifice fly plated freshman Sarah Dowd with the game-winning run.

The Penguins trailed 2-0 after UMass-Lowell posted a pair of runs in the top of the third inning.

Sophomore Miranda Castiglione tied the game with a two-run home run that plated senior Samantha Snodgrass, who singled.

After UMass-Lowell scored in the top of the sixth, Ewing singled home Castiglione to tie the game at 3-3.

Senior Casey Crozier struck out nine in a no decision, while Haslett struck out two in relief to pick up her fourth win.

In game two, Ingalls slammed a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Penguins a 3-2 lead. The Penguins added another run that inning when a bases-loaded walk to Snodgrass walked and plated Haslett.

Haslett pitched a complete-game with four strikeouts for her fifh victory of the year.

The Penguins face LaSalle at 9 a.m. and Coppin State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
