Box Score Youngstown -- Brandi Brown scored 21 points for
Youngstown State, but Butler's Chloe Hamilton scored 34 points to
pace the Bulldogs to a 73-56 win on Thursday evening at Beeghly
Center.
Butler scored the first 12 points of the game and led by double
digits for nearly all of the final 34 minutes. YSU missed its first
seven shots and didn't get on the board until Brown's jumper with
13:36 remaining.
Brown was a rebound shy of collecting her 12th double-double.

out with 7:25 remaining. Monica Touvelle chipped in with nine
points, but no other Penguin had more than five points.
Brittany Bown added 12 points and eight rebounds for Butler.
YSU kept the Bulldogs from running away with the contest in the
first half, and the Guins closed out the period on a five-point run
and trailed just 32-21 at halftime.
Hamilton scored the first points of the second half to push the
Butler advantage to 34-21, but a Bojana Dimitrov 3-pointer and a
Jones bucket on consecutive possessions cut the margin down to
single digits.
Bowen and Jones traded baskets to make the score 36-28, but
Butler scored the next 10 points to take its largest lead of the

could get.

half. The Bulldogs were 7-for-16 from 3-point range and went
18-for-22 from the free-throw line. YSU shot 38.9 percent overall
