Indianapolis — In leading the Youngstown State women's basketball to its first-ever appearance in the Horizon League championship game, Sophia Gregory and Casey Santoro were named to the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship All-Tournament Team.
Gregory and Santoro were rewarded for leading a balanced Penguin effort in the tournament. Youngstown State beat Wright State and Cleveland State to advance to Tuesday's championship game against Green Bay. A sophomore forward from Alliance, Ohio, Gregory scored in double figures in each contest and shot 51.9% from the field. Santoro averaged 9.7 points, and she was YSU's leader with 5.0 assists and 2.7 steals per contest. The sixth-year senior from Bellevue, Ohio, scored at least eight points and registered at least three assists in all three games.
