Volleyball Falls in Three at Cleveland State

Cleveland, Ohio -- Sophomores Nichele Johnson and Missy Hundelt combined for 14 of Youngstown State's 27 kills as the Penguins lost 3-0 at Cleveland State on Friday evening.
The Penguins hit .333 in the opening set, which they lost 25-21. They cooled off and hit a combined .074 over the final two sets, which they lost 25-14 and 25-11.
Hundelt had eight kills and a block, and Johnson had six kills and two block assists. The Penguins held league player-of-the-year Kara Koch in check with eight kills and six errors, but Megan Barhorst had eight kills in 12 attempts. Setter Jordan Goad also had five kills in seven attempt for CSU, which improved to 16-6 overall and 9-2 in Horizon League play.
The Vikings had a side out percentage greater than 70 percent in all three sets.
Cleveland State scored 11 of the final 12 points in the second set, and they had runs of seven and six points in the third.
Youngstown State will play at Milwaukee next Friday at 7 p.m.
