Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at No. 22 Michigan

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- No. 22 Michigan hit .354 as a team and forced Youngstown State into 20 attack errors in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-19) sweep of the Penguins on Friday at Cliff Keen Arena.
Tasha Reid led the Penguins with five kills, and Kelsi Bitter and Marissa Hundelt had four apiece. Alex Hunt had 10 kills, and Karlee Buck connected on six of her seven attempts for the Wolverines.
Michigan led the entire match and took leads of at least 4-0 in each set.
YSU trailed just 11-9 in the opening set, but Michigan went on a 14-5 run to win the set 25-14. The Wolverines then scored the first eight points of the second set en route to a 25-10 triumph.
YSU fell behind 19-10 in the third set, but the Guins climbed back and trailed just 21-18 on Hunt's attack error on Brianna Kern's serve. The teams traded points to make the score 22-19, but Michigan scored the final three points to close out the match.
The Penguins will play two matches tomorrow at the Michigan/adidas Invitational. YSU plays Miami (Ohio) at 11 a.m. and Chicago State at 5 p.m.
