Milwaukee, Wis. -- Milwaukee scored eight of its nine runs in the middle three innings, including four in the sixth to break a 4-4 tie en route to a 9-4 victory over the Youngstown State baseball team on Thursday at Henry Aaron Field.

Jacke Healey had three hits, and Joe Iacobucci hit his 10th home run of the season to lead YSU. Paul Hoenecke went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for Milwaukee.

YSU starter Aaron Swenson allowed four runs on eight hits and a season-high five walks, but he kept the Penguins in the game through five innings. Milwaukee scored all four of its runs in the sixth off reliever Cody Dearth. Hoenecke accounted for three of those runs, driving in two and scoring on a fielder's choice.

Jayme Sukowaty improved to 4-0 with the win for Milwaukee. He allowed all four runs on seven hits and two walks in 6.1 innings.

Neil Schroth singled, stole two bases and scored on Anthony Porter's sacrifice fly to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead in the second. Iacobucci scored on an error in the fourth to put YSU ahead 2-0, but Sukowaty got a big inning-ending double play with runners at the corners to escape down just two.

The Panthers seized the momentum and jumped on Swenson for three runs in the fourth. Doug Dekoning brought in Ben Long with a one-out double, and Shaun Wegner hit a two-run single up the middle with two outs to put UWM on top 3-2.

Derek Carr doubled and scored on Healey's single as YSU tied the score in the top of the fifth, but the Panthers reclaimed the lead on Dekoning's two-out RBI single in the bottom half.

Iacobucci homered to lead off the sixth to give the Penguins their last lead of the contest. UWM's four-run bottom half put it ahead 8-4, and the Panthers added an insurance run in the eighth.

The loss drops Youngstown State to 21-30 overall and 9-15 in the Horizon League. The Penguins fell one-half game behind idle Butler in the league standings and now sit in sixth place. Butler begins a three-game series with last-place Cleveland State on Friday. Milwaukee remained in second place with its victory and improved to 27-23 overall and 15-8 in league play.

The Penguins and Panthers will play a doubleheader on Friday at 2 p.m. Eastern.
