Volleyball Gets Swept By Butler

Youngstown -- Butler hit better than .390 in each of the final two sets to defeat the Youngstown State volleyball team on Wednesday and win for the sixth time in seven matches.
Butler was held to a .091 attack percentage, but the Bulldogs hit .391 and .393 the next two sets. Butler won 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.
Setter Dani Soubliere led the Penguins with six kills in 13 attempts, and Brittany McNeal had a match-high 11 digs. YSU was hurt by nine serving errors.
Jessica Wolfe had 11 of Butler's 38 kills, which was 13 more than the Penguins had.
Butler cruised in the first set behind a 12-3 start, but the Penguins hung midway through the second. YSU trailed just 15-13 after a Jenna Cavanaugh kill, but Butler closed out the set by scoring 10 of the final 13 points.
Butler led just 10-7 in the third but closed out strong again to win 25-15. The Bulldogs had sideouts on 12 of 15 chances and converted 10 straight at one point.
Butler improved to 10-7 overall and 5-1 in Horizon League play with the win.
Youngstown State will play at Loyola on Saturday at 5 p.m.
