Valiant Effort Comes Up Short as Volleyball Loses to Milwaukee

Youngstown -- The Youngstown
State volleyball team battled through 22 ties and 12 lead changes
before falling in straight sets to Horizon League leader Milwaukee
on Saturday afternoon.
Eight of those lead changes and 11 ties
came in the third set that saw Milwaukee score nine straight points
early and stave off four set points to win 31-29.
The Panthers won the first set 25-14 and
the second 25-21 to improve to 13-5 overall and 6-1 in league
contests. YSU dropped to 8-9 and 1-6.
Ebony Barbosa had 14 kills and 12 digs
for YSU while Becky Peters had 17 kills, including eight of
Milwaukee's 16 in the final set, to pace the Panthers.
The Penguins will play host to Green Bay
on Sunday at 2 p.m.
