    Quin Humphrey capped an impressive Youngstown State basketball career being named a first-team All-Horizon League performer twice. Since joining the Division I ranks, he is one of just two Penguins to accomplish that feat.
    In his four seasons, Humphrey scored 1,707 points, grabbed 674 rebounds and had 253 assists. He ended his career ranked eighth in scoring in school history and 10th in rebounding. Only two players have scored more points than Humphrey since the Guins joined the Division I ranks while four have grabbed more rebounds.
    He finished his career as the school-record holder in minutes played (3,689) and games played (114), and he was second in starts (104), second in 3-point attempts (451), third in 3-pointers made (175), third in steals (137), third in free-throws made (370), fifth in free-throw attempts (492), eighth in blocked shots (46), eighth in field-goals made (586) and ninth in field-goal attempts (1,305). He tallied 17 career double-doubles, including six as a senior and 10 as a junior. He also had six 30-plus point performances.
    As a senior in 2006-07, he averaged 18.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest. He scored a career-best 584 points while grabbing 221 boards, finishing with 92 assists and 42 steals. While playing a school-record 1,105 minutes, he made 189 field goals, 141 free throws and 65 3-pointers. His 141 free throws were the fourth best in a season in school history while his 65 3-pointers ranked second. He scored at least 20 points on 14 occasions in his final season.
    In Horizon League play, he led the league in scoring for the second consecutive year averaging 19.7 points per game in conference contests.
    He had three amazing performances during the year. Against UIC on Feb. 3 he scored a career-high 37 points on 13-of-15 shooting, including 8-for-9 from behind the 3-point arc. He finished with 36 points versus Detroit on Feb. 14, making 12 field goals, including eight 3-pointers. On Senior Night against Wright State he had 35 points, scoring 29 during an impressive second-half performance.
    As a junior, he averaged 19.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. He ranked 39th in the NCAA in points per game average. He led the Horizon League in points and rebounds per game not only during the league season, but for the entire year. He became just the second player in conference history to lead the league in both categories for an entire year.
    For the year he scored 538 points while grabbing a career-best 233 rebounds. He scored in double figures in all but one game for the year and had 30-plus points on three occasions. Humphrey added 72 assists, 34 steals and 11 blocked shots for the season. He also had 10 double-doubles and scored in double figures in all but one game.
    Humphrey scored more than 30 points in three straight games - totalling 96 points in that stretch.
    He had 33 points at UIC, 32 at Loyola and then 31 versus Green Bay from Dec. 31 to Jan. 5.
    Against the Flames, he was 11-of-23 from the field, had two 3-pointers, was 9-of-10 from the line and grabbed eight rebounds. At Loyola, he was 12-of-16 from the field, had three 3-pointers and was 5-of-7 from the free-throw line with 10 rebounds. Against the Phoenix, he was 12-of-15, had three 3-pointers, was 4-of-4 from the line and had six boards. Humphrey also had 29 at Butler and 29 versus Kent State.
    As a sophomore, he scored 402 points and grabbed 150 rebounds while starting all 28 games. He made 147 field goals and 39 3-pointers. He grabbed a team-high 150 rebounds, dished out 51 assists, had 39 steals and blocked 14 shots. He averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He scored in double figures in 25 games, including four 20-point efforts. His best scoring contest was 26 against Loyola on Dec. 21. He had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds at Duquesne.
    During his freshman campaign in 2003-04, he scored 183 points and had 70 rebounds, 38 assists and 22 steals. He played in 27 games, starting 17 contests in his first season. He had a season-best 16 points at Boston U.
    At Stockbridge High School, he earned second-team all-state and third-team all-state honors from various outlets as a senior. In his final season he averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game. A native of Ellenwood, Ga., he was named the Class 5A/Region 2 Player of the Year.
    Following his YSU career, he was drafted in the second round of the 2007 NBA D-League Draft as the 24th overall selection by the Rio Grand Valley Vipers.
    He played for Rio Grande from 2007-10. In 2007-08, he played in 49 games averaging 7.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. In 2008-09, he appeared in 43 contests averaging 7.5 points and 3.4 rebounds. He played in seven games in 2009-10. In 99 career contests, he scored 713 points, grabbed 295 rebounds, had 150 assists, 69 steals and blocked 10 shots.
