Playing for the Penguins from 1976 to 1979, he was an integral part of the Penguin defense which helped post a 33-13-0 overall mark, making it to post season play twice when they were semi finalists (1978) and runners up in Division II (1979). Called one of the hardest hitters and one of the greatest to roam the defensive secondary by then head Coach Bill Narduzzi, it's only fitting that he and his college roommate Ed McGlasson are honored at this year's Hall of Fame festivities together. The Hamilton, OH native is the all time leading interceptor for the Penguins, rewriting the defensive secondary record book that is still used today as the standard by which future defensive backs will be judged. He pilfered 24 enemy passes during a four year career, his two best seasons coming in 1978 and 1979 when he intercepted nine enemy missiles. Both times he led the team in that category. It is not just by coincidence that it was those two seasons that the Penguins were a force to contend with on the Division II level. The Penguins made it to the semi finals of the Division II play offs in 1978, and then followed that up with runner up honors in the Zia Bowl the following season. His single game exploits are just as impressive as his season and career marks as he intercepted two enemy aerials in a game on three separate occasions- never done before and it has not been accomplished since. Currently a Deputy Sheriff with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, he is married to the former Jill Wiesman. They are the proud parents of a daughter, Julie, who will be two in December.
