Gillian Romanchok joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in June 2024 as a staff athletic trainer working primarily with the Penguins’ soccer and women’s tennis programs.

Before coming to Youngstown State, Romanchok worked at North Carolina State University providing care for the Wolfpack's football and softball student athletes while receiving her master's degree.

Romanchok received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from PennWest Clarion in 2022. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training from PennWest California in 2024. Romanchok’s professional interests include student-athlete mental health awareness, manual therapy, and dry needling. In her free time, Gillian enjoys going on walks with her golden retriever Toby, spending time on Lake Erie, and staying in touch with her hometown friends and her volleyball teammates from college.
