Alyssa Gervelis is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Youngstown State women's soccer program.
In 2021, the Penguins tied the school record for most standings points earned in a Horizon League campaign. Her first season with program was in the spring of 2021 when YSU played nine matches against Horizon League foes.
Gervelis joined Youngstown State after spending two seasons as the Graduate Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at her alma mater, Ashland University.
During her two seasons at Ashland, Gervelis has helped the Eagles win 24 games and earn a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. This past season, the Eagles were ranked as high as 11th in the NCAA United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Rankings.
Prior to her time at Ashland, Gervelis was the head soccer coach for three seasons at Bluffton High School in Bluffton, South Carolina. Gervelis helped Bluffton earn a pair of regional championships (2017 & 2018) as well as the high school's top spring sport GPA in 2017. While in Bluffton, she also served as a coach for Global Premier Soccer.
Before taking the head job at Bluffton, Gervelis was a coach for the Storm Soccer Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Gervelis has also been actively involved in facilitating and running soccer camps and clinics at Ashland and Kent State University.
During her playing days at Ashland, Gervelis was a four-year letter winner playing as a forward and midfielder. Gervelis had the opportunity to play in the 2011 Gliac Conference Championship Game and was also a member of the 2010 Gliac All-Academic Team.
Gervelis earned a bachelor of arts in secondary education at Ashland in 2013 and will earn her master's in educational in technology in May.
