Former Youngstown State women's golfer Angela Molaskey is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach. Molaskey played for the Penguins from 2010-14 and was a student assistant last year.
A 2015 YSU graduate, she will serve as the Guins' top assistant this year for Head Coach Nate Miklos.
A native of Poland, Ohio, she was a four-year letterwinner for the program playing for both Roseann Schwartz and Miklos.
She was a two-time member of the Penguins' Horizon League Championship lineup during her career competing at the event in 2011 and 2012.
As a senior in 2013-14, she played in eight tournament and 17 rounds. As a junior, she played in eight events and 18 rounds for the Penguins with a best-finish of eighth at the YSU Invitational. In 2012, Molaskey competed in a career-high 10 tournaments and career-best 22 rounds. In 2011, she played in nine tournament and 18 rounds for the year highlighted by a seventh-place finish at the RMU Classic.
Prior to her collegiate career, she was a standout golfer at nearby Poland High School. As a senior in 2009, she finished 20th at the Ohio Division II Golf Championship while helping the Bulldogs finish as the state runner up. As a junior, the Bulldogs won the Division II state championship by one stroke. She was a three-year letterwinner for coach Judy Young.
Molaskey teaches Social Studies at East Palestine High School.
