Martha Dettl is in entering her third year as an assistant athletic trainer in 2015-16. Dettl joined the YSU Athletics Department in the fall of 2013.

Dettl handles the athletic training duties for the YSU softball and volleyball programs. The Penguins' softball team won more than 30 games in a season for just the second time in school history in 2014, and YSU's volleyball squad has posted three straight winning seasons for the first time in program history. She also assists head athletic trainer John Doneyko in the day-to-day operations of the department.

Dettl served as a graduate assistant on the Athletic Training Staff at Ohio University prior to joining the Penguins' staff. She worked with the Bobcats' softball program for two seasons and went on to earn a Master's of Science in Athletic Training in 2013.

She earned her undergraduate degree at East Stroudsburg University in 2011.
