2009 XC (Freshman): Ran a time of 27:21 to finish 24th at the Horizon League Championships ... scored in all six meets during the season, leading the men in four ... finished Regionals with a time of 34:23 ... ran a season-best 8k time of 25:39 at the Bowling Green Falcon Invite ... finished 20th at the event ... finished fourth at the Kent State four mile with a time of 20:24 ... added a 31st place finish at the PSU Spiked Shoe Invitational ... also ran a time of 28:06 at the All-Ohio Championships.
2009 Outdoor (Freshman): Tabbed the Horizon League Running Newcomer of the Year after his victory in the 5,000m with a time of 14:36.82 and second-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 8:59.18 at the Outdoor Championships ... the 5,000m time at the league meet broke the school record that stood for nearly 19 years ... also set the school record in the steeplechase with a first-place time of 8:49.25 at the Cardinal Twilight ... the event time ranked 21st nationally and it was the fastest time by a freshman in the nation ... the time was also a Louisville track record ... qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regionals by running a time of 9:05.86 at the Sea Ray Relays ... lowered his Regional qualifying time a week later at the Penn Relays and was a member of the school-record setting 4x800m squad that ran a time of 7:38.63 ... led after a mile in the 3,000m steeplechase but could not hang on and finished 15th (9:07.63) at the Mideast Regionals ... added victories in the 5,000m (15:00.77) at the Sparky Adams Invite and the 1,500m (3:55.37) at the Campbell/Wright Open ... also set a Detroit Stadium record in the steeplechase with a first-place time of 9:35.90 at the Detroit Titan Classic.
2009 Indoor (Freshman): Named Horizon League Running Newcomer of the Year following his performance at the league meet ... set a Horizon League record in the 5,000m with a time of 14:24.21 to finish first at the meet ... also ran the mile in 4:15.83 to finish fourth and took eighth in 3,000m with a time of 8:29.76 at the HL Championships ... set school records in the 3,000m and 5,000m during the campaign ... broke the 3,000m record with a time of 8:18.59 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite ... his first-place school-record time of 14:15.10 in the 5,000m came at the Akron Open ... ranks third in school history in the mile with a time of 4:14.46 ... the time was good for second at the Doug Raymond Invitational ... had first-place finishes in the mile (4:18.35) and 3,000m (8:26.71) at the KSU Triangular.
