Fengting Chen is entering her fifth season as the men's and women's diving coach at Youngstown State.

The program has had a successful run during her first four seasons on the YSU campus.

At the 2022-23 Horizon League Championships, senior diver Kayla Wrasman earned spots in both the one-meter and three-meter diving finals. In the three-meter, she placed a career-high fifth at the meet with a score of 244.30. She was seventh in the one-meter dive, scoring a 236.65. Wrasman qualified for the NCAA Diving Zone C Championships in the women’s one-meter dive.

Cody Thill set the school record in the men’s three-meter dive with a score of 325.13 against Niagara. Thill qualified for the NCAA Diving Zone C Championships for the first time in his career.

At the 2021-22 HL Championships, diver Tess Weiskopf finished eighth with a final round score of 229.40 in the three-meter dive. It was the sixth time in her career that she finished in the top eight or better at the HL meet. She was ninth in the one-meter event. Kayla Wrasman placed a career-best seventh in the one-meter dive with a finals score of 248.35. She placed ninth in the three-meter even. Wrasman advanced to the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships for the first time in her career competing in the one-meter event.

In 2021, Weiskopf was eighth in both the one- and three-meter events at the Horizon League Championships. In 2020, Weiskopf led the Penguins at the Horizon League Championships placing seventh in the one-meter dive and eighth in the three-meter. 

On the men's side, freshman Cody Thill finished 10th in the one-meter dive and 11th in the three-meter dive.

Chen spent two seasons as the diving coach for the Indiana State women's program before joining the YSU staff. She coached the Sycamores' school-record holders in the one-meter and three-meter dives.

Previously she was a volunteer diving coach at Southern Illinois.

She was a standout diver at Southern Illinois from 2012-14. Chen was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection for the Salukis and an MVC Scholar-Athlete. In 2014, she placed second in the three-meter dive and third in the one-meter dive at the MVC Championships.

She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois.
