What is my contribution to the Penguin Club utilized for?
Penguin Club membership revenue is used to cover the costs of athletic grant-in-aid provided to our student-athletes. Scholarships are the single-largest investment made by the Athletic Department. Athletic grant-in-aid can cover tuition, books, room and board. In addition, Penguin Club revenues support and enhance the Athletic Department's general fund.
Why should I join?
Your support helps us to continue to educate, teach and coach our student-athletes while promoting the ideals of college athletics.
Is my contribution to the Penguin Club tax deductible?
Yes. Your charitable contribution is tax deductible, excluding the value of the benefits received. Please consult your tax advisor for complete details.
How can I pay for a Penguin Club Membership?
In addition to standard check or credit card, members can spread out their payments via an automated check withdrawal (ACH) or University employees can take advantage of payroll deduction.
Does my membership include season tickets?
Season tickets are included in the Royal level and above. Additional season tickets may be purchased in addition to your Penguin Club tickets.
Does my membership benefit YSU's Olympic Sports?
Yes. All Penguin Club membership dollars go to benefit the entire department.
Beyond scholarships, how does the Penguin Club benefit YSU Athletics?
The following is a summary of projects that have been supported either in-full or in-part by the Penguin Club:
- YSU Athletic Hall of Fame
- Department computers for student-athlete's study hall
- Computerized ticketing & development system
- Move into the Horizon League
- Varsity team banquets
- Renovated team locker rooms
- Championship team rings
