2021-22 (Senior): Named to the All-Horizon League First Team and the All-Defensive Team in her first season at the Division I level... Was the first Penguin ever to earn all-defense and all-league accolades in the same season... A transfer from Division II Wheeling, ranked among the top three players in the conference in scoring (16.9 ppg), rebounding (9.5 rpg), field-goal percentage (.569) and double-doubles (11)... Defensively, she ranked third in steals (2.0 spg), sixth in blocks (0.93 bpg) and fifth in defensive rebounding (5.9 rpg)... Was named the Horizon League Player-of-the Week three times (Nov. 22, Jan. 24 and Feb. 14)... Wheeling: Had two outstanding seasons at Wheeling when she earned national recognition as one of the top post players at the Division II level… Led the nation in rebounding in 2019-20 and 2020-21, and she ranked second in the country in scoring in 2020-21 with 23.6 points per game... Over just two seasons with the Cardinals, totaled 1,054 points and 800 rebounds and she had a double-double in each of her final 33 games at Wheeling… That was one shy of the all-time Division II record for consecutive double-doubles… Was the first player in Division II history to record at least 30 rebounds in multiple games… Ritz was a consensus All-American as junior when she averaged 23.6 points, 17.8 rebounds and 2.44 blocks per game... Was selected as a First-Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association, and she was an Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association... Was a Second-Team All-American by the D2CCA in 2019-20 as she averaged 21 points and 16 rebounds in her first full season with the Cardinals.
Cal (Pa.): Played a partial season at California (Pa.) in 2018-19 before transferring to Wheeling mid-season.
High School: Set all-time school records with 1,553 points and 1,115 rebounds... Named second-team all-state as a junior and first-team all-state as a senior... Received special mention all-state as a sophomore... Tabbed district and league Player of the Year as a senior... Earned first-team all-district, all-league, and all-conference honors three times... Member of district and conference championship team as a senior... Member of section championship team as both a junior and senior... Played in the OHSBCA North-South Game... Also a member of soccer and track & field teams... Qualified for the state championship four times in the high jump and placed second at the state meet as a junior… Earned first-team all-conference accolades in soccer as a senior... Personal: Major is business administration… Parents are Kevin and Sally… Has two brothers and one sister... Her father was a pitcher in MLB for nine seasons with the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies... Her sister Molly played at Notre Dame (Ohio) from 2011-15... Brother Kyle played men's basketball at Wheeling from 2013-17... Was also a member of the Wheeling Track & Field team and was named the 2019 MEC Track & Field Freshman of the Year... Recipient of the 2022-23 Herbert O. Zimmer Athletic Scholarship endowment.
