
Penguins Continue Fall Schedule on Monday at Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational

The Youngstown State women's golf team will continue its fall schedule on Monday when it begins play in the two-day Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational at the Penn State Blue Course in University Park, Pa.
The Penguins are coming off a fourth-place team finish in the season-opening Roseann Schwartz Invitational on Aug. 31 at Avalon at Buhl Park in Hermitage, Pa. YSU had a pair of players finish in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard. In her first collegiate tournament, Inés González Ortega finished tied for ninth with a two-round score of 149 (77-72). Valentina Peña Anaya also finished tied for ninth individually with a two-round total of 149 (71-78).
The tournament field at the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational will feature 17 other schools including Akron, Bucknell, Delaware, Duquesne, Harvard, James Madison, Lehigh, Maryland, Penn State, University of Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Seton Hall, Towson, Virginia Tech and Yale.
The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play is slated to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. each day. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard by Clippd through links posted on YSUsports.com
Head Coach Nate Miklos has announced that YSU's lineup will feature González Ortega, Peña Anaya, Neeranuch Prajunpanich, Sofia Perez Escarcena and Matilyn Zines. In addition, Eliza Mercer will be competing as an individual for the Penguins.
