Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State women's basketball student-athletes Sarah Baker, Danielle Cameron, Sophia Gregory and Casey Santoro have been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, for their combined elite performance on the court and in the classroom. The organization announced its teams on Tuesday.
Baker is a psychology major who is averaging 11.5 points and 4.3 rebounds this season. A native of Florence, Ky., Baker ranks third in the Horizon League with a .523 field-goal percentage while also ranking 11th with 0.8 blocks per game. Previously this season, she earned honorable mention distinction on the Horizon League All-Academic Team.
Cameron, a native of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, who is majoring in biology, ranks second in the Horizon League with 2.0 3-pointers per game. She has made 67 3-pointers this season while averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.
Gregory was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, and she earned Academic All-Horizon League honors. A finance major who hails from Alliance, Ohio, Gregory leads the conference with 8.8 rebounds per game while also ranking among the top eight in assists, blocks and steals per game. She is one of two players in the country averaging at least 10 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and one block per game.
Santoro is a sixth-year senior from Bellevue, Ohio, studying psychology. A Second-Team All-Horizon League selection, Santoro leads the Horizon League in minutes per game this season while also leading the Penguins with 12.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. She has reached 1,300 career points, 500 career rebounds and 350 career assists this season.
