The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up their second win in as many days beating Duquesne 6-1 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins (5-4) won for the third straight time at home by defeating the Dukes (3-7).
The Guins won two of the three doubles contests to get the upper hand on Duquesne early.
At No. 1, Hanna Telszynska and Yoana Dudova earned a 6-2 win while at No. 3, Yeseniia Ovcharova and Lydia Foster won by the same score. The Dukes won at No. 2 doubles by a 6-4 margin.
YSU won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles. The Guins picked up a three-set win at No. 4, while Duquesne won in straight sets at No. 5.
At No. 1, Telzynska picked up a 7-6 (6), 6-2 win. At No. 2, Lorena Cedeno won by a 6-4, 6-4 score. At No. 3, Ovcharova collected a 6-4, 6-1 win. The other winner in straight sets was Sarah Partida Garcia who won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. At No. 4, Dudova rallied for a 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-6 triumph.
YSU concludes a busy weekend with a home tilt against Western Michigan tomorrow morning at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
