Las Vegas, Nevada – The Youngstown State women's tennis team grinded out a 4-3 win over Utah Tech on sunny Friday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Penguins (2-2) won the doubles point and picked up three singles wins against the Trailblazers.

In doubles, Lorena Cedeno and Line Greyling picked up a 6-4 victory at No. 2 to clinch the point after Lydia Foster and Yeseniia Ovcharova claimed a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, the Guins won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 to claim the win. UT won in straight sets at No. 3 and No. 4 and won in three sets at No. 5.

At No. 1, Hanna Telzynska won 7-6, 6-2. Cedeno cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2. At No. 6, Foster collected a key 6-4, 6-4 triumph.

YSU returns to the court on Saturday when it faces Weber State. First serve for the contest is set for 10 a.m. local time, 1 p.m. Eastern time.
