Youngstown, Ohio -- The Youngstown State Athletics Department is pleased to invite YSU basketball fans to the Third Annual Trick-or-"Pete" at Penguins Madness presented by 21 WFMJ on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center.

The men's and women's basketball fan fest will run from 6-7:30 p.m., and attendees can come dressed in your best Halloween costume to Trick-or-Treat with the Penguins. 

The event will also feature a dunk contest, a 3-point contest from both basketball teams, and two half-court shot opportunities for YSU students to win $500.

The first 100 YSU students will receive a free T-Shirt, and both teams will sign autographs.

Youngstown State is looking for vendors and area businesses to participate in its Trick-or-Pete event. Current YSU sponsors will receive free table space, and there is a $75 fee for non-sponsors.

The event is free, and parking will be available in the Youngstown Tile Retail Design Center/M-81 lot. 

The Youngstown State basketball programs open the 2025-26 campaigns on Monday, Nov. 3. The YSU women's team hosts Thiel at 11 a.m. at Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center. The men's team visits ACC-member Pittsburgh at the Petersen Events Center. Tipoff time is to be determined.
