Youngstown State student-athletes Jordan Truelsch and Maria Insana will be the university's representatives on the Horizon League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2025-26. The conference office announced the members from the league's 11 institutions on Monday.
Truelsch, a native of Brunswick, Ohio, is a senior on YSU's swimming and diving team who will serve on the Governance Cabinet. Insana, who hails from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, is entering her junior year on Youngstown State's volleyball team.
Both Truelsch and Insana will also hold leadership positions on YSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2025-26. Truelsch will serve as vice president, and Insana will be the career development officer.
The Horizon League SAAC held an in-person meeting in late May and will continue to meet through several videoconferences during the academic year.
Each of the league's member institutions is represented by two student-athletes on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that will serve as voting members. The League will also welcome general members to this group, in an effort to provide opportunities for development to more student-athletes. #OneHL, which Truelsch was a member of in 2024-25, will also be a part of this group to continue the League's Impact & Belonging initiatives.
Additionally, SAAC members will serve as Cabinet members in the Horizon League governance structure while two student-athletes will also represent the student-athlete voice and hold one vote on the League Council, alongside all 11 Athletics Directors, one Faculty Athletics Representative and one Senior Woman Administrator.
