Frodyma Receives Second-Consecutive #HLSD Men's Sportsmanship Award

For the second-consecutive year, Terin Frodyma represented the Youngstown State men's swimming and diving program as the recipient of the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Men's Sportsmanship Award, the league announced Wednesday.

The Horizon League selects one male and one female student-athlete who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The award is voted on by the league's head coaches.

Frodyma, a senior and team captain of the Penguins, is a member of SAAC, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where he served as Vice President this year.

Youngstown State Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Head Coach Brad Smith gave high praise to Terin's ability to be a leader both inside the pool and out:

"The same effort that Terin gives to each practice, he also gives to his relationship with others. He's a two-time team captain for good reason. He is someone that his peers admire and look up to, he's a great role model, and he's a good teammate. He's often selfless. He can always be found celebrating his teammates' accomplishments, pepping up the team, and being a listening ear to others. He's shown other teams, coaches, and Horizon League staff the same wonderful sportsmanship that we so often see".

Frodyma graduated this past fall with a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications with a Sports Broadcasting Track, where he upheld a 3.92 GPA.
