Kirsten Moore Repeats as Elite 90 Award Winner at NCAA Bowling Championship

Las Vegas — Youngstown State fifth-year senior Kirsten Moore is the recipient of the Elite 90 Award for the 2025 National Collegiate Women's Bowling Championship, earning the award for the second straight season.

Moore, a graduate student working toward her Master's degree in English, was presented with the award during the Postseason Awards Presentation at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas on Thursday evening.

Moore is the first two-time winner of the Elite 90 Award in Youngstown State history, and she is just the third Penguin regardless of sport to win it. The other two are football student-athlete Hunter Wells (2017) and former bowling teammate Sarah Florence (2021).

Moore was a Second-Team All-American in 2023-24, and she is a two-time Academic All-Conference USA selection. This season, she is averaging 20.23 pins per frame overall and ranks second on the team with 29 games over 200. She leads the Penguins in games bowled, and she ranks second in total frames.

The Elite 90 award honors the exceptional achievements of student-athletes. This prestigious accolade is given to those who have not only excelled at a national championship level in their sport but have also achieved the highest academic standards among their peers. The Elite 90 is proudly awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.

Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed. For more information on the Elite 90 award winners, go to www.ncaa.org/elite90.
