Penguins, Vikings Set for Wednesday Clash in Cleveland

The Youngstown State men's tennis team clashes with Cleveland State on Wednesday night at the MMTP in Cleveland. First serve for the #HLTennis contest is set for 6 p.m.
Both YSU and CSU enter the contest with 3-0 Horizon League records. The Penguins and Vikings have defeated IU Indy and Northern Kentucky at home and this past weekend, won at Chicago State. YSU has an overall record of 11-6 while CSU is 6-11.
This past Saturday, the Guins defeated the Cougars 7-0 before battling in a 4-0 loss to No. 65 Northwestern.
The Vikings won both meetings last year with YSU's previous win coming on April 22, 2023. The Penguins last won at the MMTP on April 23, 2022.
YSU has been strong in dual singles matches posting a record of 61-35. Ethan Dasset leads the way with a 10-4 dual mark while Onder Balci and Viktor Van Craenenbroeck each have nine victories. In HL play, YSU is 15-3 as Balci and Dasset are both 3-0.
In doubles this spring, Youngstown State is 30-15 and an impressive 7-1 in HL contests.
The Penguins are back at home on Sunday when they face the Cougars for the second time in eight days. First serve at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center is set for 3 p.m.
