
Penguins to Send Three Divers to the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships This Week

The swimming and diving postseason is in full swing around the country, and the Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will send three divers to the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this week at the McCorkle Aquatics Center in Columbus, Ohio. The meet begins on Monday and will run through Wednesday.
Hanna Held and Ellen Linscheid will represent the women's diving team, while Cody Thill will be representing the men's diving team.
Both Held and Linscheid will be competing in the women's one-meter diving event on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Held will also compete in the women's three-meter dive event on Monday at 1 p.m., as well as the platform diving event at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Thill is slated to compete in the men's three-meter diving event at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Held and Linscheid both qualified for the one-meter diving event in the St. Bonaventure Dual meet to begin the season on Sept. 27, with Held scoring 273.68, and Linscheid scoring 267.00. The mark required to qualify for NCAA Zones is 265.
Held qualified for the three-meter diving event with a score of 300.00 in the Saint Francis Dual meet on Nov. 9, eclipsing the required score of 280. She qualified for the platform diving event during the IU Indianapolis Dual meet on Jan.11, surpassing the required score of 225.
Thill set a new program record with a score of 331.73 during the Denison Dual meet on Jan. 18 to qualify for the one-meter diving event at NCAA Zones, passing the required score of 300 which is needed to qualify.
